Overview
of Infrastructure
Crude oil is discharged from and loaded into vessels at the oil jetty in the Port of Saldanha.
The crude oil is pumped to and from the storage and blending terminal through the existing SSF pipeline in the Aquarius MOGS Saldanha connecting pipeline system. The design of the terminal allows crude oil to be pumped into, out of, and in between any of the tanks in the terminal. In addition, it also allows both in tank and in-line blending of the crude oil.
The terminal is connected to an SFF pipeline. The SFF pipeline connects the state-owned SFF crude oil storage facility to the oil jetty in the Port of Saldanha Bay. The jetty is currently maintained and operated by SFF and handles vessels up to VLCC size.
